ORDINARY/EMERGENCY UTITU WORKSHOP
ON GALATA 2006

Ordinary / Emergency Utitu Workshop On Galata 2006 workshop will be held in Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, during the week of 2006, September, 10-16. The objectives of the workshop are enhance the strategic approach to Galata regeneration, integrate the interests of 4 research programs of ITU – UT (Urban Design, History, Water Engineering, Earthquake Protection), create the new image of contemporary public place.
With this workshop, it will be supplied to organize a workshop together with students from Istanbul Technical University and Tokyo University. The workshop can be a sort of educational seminars led by the researchers from the integrated research groups. In discussion parts of workshop, it is thought that if the discussions can be done as studio works it will have more practical results. Also when planning and designing process can include the data of Galata area in an integrated form, it will be possible to generate a complete and integrated solution. Finally, a workshop conducted in studios with students will add values to both academic and educational researches.
